Jeep Trip to Sandstone Canyon

Photo #3 (and the same photo lightened in #4) was taken just after we nearly took a mud bath.  Right behind the Jeep is a rockslide which blocked the normal flat creek bottom we were driving in. I exited the creek bed and drove above the rockslide and started to re-enter the normal trail, which looked just like the rest of the mud we had been driving on. I got one tire down into it before realizing that it was a lake of mud, probably several feet deep. The whole thing jiggled when we threw big rocks on it. So I backed up and continued up the creek past the lake of mud before getting back onto the regular trail. Whew! All photos were taken by Matthew McVane and are copyrighted by him.
