It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World Locations Not Yet Documented
|
||
|
On this and other Mad World websites, the webmaster and visitors have "proven" where most of the scenes in the 1963 movie, "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World were shot. But some questions remain. Below are some locations that I would still like someone to document with photos or other verifiable information. By the way, the movie credits offer apologies to the cities and towns where the movie was shot. The list includes Santa Barbara and San Pedro. But I don't think any scenes have been documented in either of those places. You have have noticed locations not listed anywhere on this site or at the other "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World site. I would like to add those to the list. If you have any information or photos please send them to me. Click here for Email Address. |

1. Flying through a roadside billboard.
Even though we know this was just east of the John Wayne airport, it would
still be nice to have a more exact location -- though we probably never
will. Click here for more information. |
Irvine, just east of the Orange County Airport, now known as John Wayne Airport. Click here for more information. |

2. Smirnoff Sign. This location is thought to be on Highway 101 near Malibu Canyon Road. But the hills in this area are mainly covered with brush, not grass.

3. Mobil Station. Wouldn't it be nice if we could read that leaning street sign. Has been said to be near 101 and Cheseboro Road in Agoura Hills but neither of these roads looks like a four-lane divided highway, and I don't see any hill in the area that look like this.
